Tonight the lady I babysit for got me a Christmas present. It was a 15-dollar gift card to Barnes & Noble. She didn't know that the book I wanted for Christmas is exactly 15 dollars. I like Barnes & Noble, and gift cards, and coincidences that are so uncanny that you are convinced that they were actually planned by Someone.
Tonight my roommate called me (she is gone for Christmas break), and we talked for 45 minutes. I couldn't hear half of what she said because everyone was asleep at her house and she was practically whispering so as not to wake them up. But that didn't matter because I understood most of what she said without being able to hear all the words. That's the way it is with good roommates. I like my roommate.
Tonight I cleaned the kitchen. Well, I cleaned half of it. And it is so thrilling to me that when I told myself "I'm so tired, so I'll just finish cleaning it tomorrow," I could be certain that it actually will happen. There is no work or homework or other busyness to supersede my good intentions to finish cleaning the kitchen.
Tonight I am blogging. I like blogging.
Tonight I am going to bed after 2 AM without a feeling of guilt, because I have no responsibilities tomorrow. Nothing that I absolutely must do. Except clean the kitchen. I like clean kitchens.
Christmas break is a beautiful time. The last several days have also been filled with a few of my favorite things, but I'll not get into that now. Not that I don't have time-- because I do. I just don't feel like writing much longer. I can do it later. Because I'll actually have time later, too. Because I am free all the time. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!
